OOM leader Vincent unaware of three-shot lead on last in Morocco

Scott Vincent’s impressive victory at the International Series Morocco propelled him from 18th to the top spot on the Asian Tour Order of Merit. He also made a significant jump in The International Series Rankings, moving from 45th to second place, reaffirming his return to peak form. Vincent has shown strong form all season, including a third-place finish at the Japan Players Championship the week before Morocco. In May, he placed fourth at the Kolon Korea Open, one of his four top-12 finishes on the Asian Tour this year before his latest win.

Despite ultimately winning by four strokes over Thailand’s Danthai Boonma, Vincent described the final round as anything but easy. He led by just one shot after 14 holes, then surged ahead with three birdies in his last four holes, including a memorable 20-foot putt on the final green. Vincent explained that he avoids watching the leaderboard during play to stay focused. He noted that with strong scores from other contenders throughout the week, he felt pressure to keep pace, especially after being even par through nine holes. A strong finish, however, allowed him to create a comfortable margin by the end.

This win marks Vincent’s second Asian Tour title, his first coming at the International Series England in June 2022, the same year he topped The International Series Rankings and earned a spot in the LIV Golf League. Vincent credits his recent success to greater consistency in the small details of his game, rather than any major changes in approach. On the final day in Morocco, he hit an impressive 17 greens in regulation.

Vincent previously performed well for Iron Head GC on the LIV circuit in 2022, with notable finishes in Singapore and Jeddah that secured his playing rights for the following season. His latest victory has strengthened his determination to return to the LIV stage. He emphasized that winning early in The International Series is crucial, as it opens up more opportunities for strong performances throughout the year. Vincent is optimistic about the rest of the season, noting that there are still many tournaments ahead and that The International Series has played a key role in his career progression.
